Honor 8X with 6.5″ Display, Kirin 710 SoC, 20MP Dual Cameras Launched in India

As teased earlier, Honor today launched the all-new Honor 8X smartphone in the Indian market. The X-series devices from Honor have always offered great performance and came with an aggressive price tag. Now, the new Honor 8X also adds the beauty to its list. While the earlier launched Honor X devices came with a metal unibody design, the new Honor 8X sports glass back body with the beautiful looking two-tone finish.

Talking about the specifications, the Honor 8X sports a 6.5-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The display on this device offers 91% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood is the 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The device comes with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage.

In terms of optics, the Honor 8X comes with 20MP + 2MP dual rear cameras with f/1.8 aperture and a single 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device can record slo-mo videos up to 480 fps and includes AI features like auto scene detection and AIS (AI-based stabilization). It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box. The device will also include the GPU Turbo feature for better gaming performance.

It is backed by a 3,750mAh non-removable battery that also supports up to 5V/2A (10W) power input. The device sports rear-facing fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It will be available in Red, Black and Blue color options in India. The device measures 160.4 × 76.6 × 7.8 mm and weighs 175 grams.

Coming to the pricing, the Honor 8X with 4GB RAM is priced very aggressively at Rs 14,999. The 6GB RAM variant with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 16,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively. It will be sold exclusively via Amazon India starting October 24th.
