Honor, the subsidiary of Huawei is all set to launch its high-end smartphone ‘Honor 7‘ in India on October 7th. In China, the company had launched the smartphone way back in June for around $322 (approx Rs.21,000). Earlier this month, the company has announced that the Honor smartphones will also be available offline while the Flipkart remain as the exclusive online partner.
In an event, the company had also announced that Honor 4X has been a huge success with more than 10 million sales globally. If the Honor 7 is priced aggressively, we expect the company to reach its goal of selling 1.5-2 million smartphones before the end of this year simply.
The company also launched the Honor 7i that sports a 13MP rotating camera along with a fingerprint sensor that is placed on the side of the device. As of now, we don’t expect the device to be launched in India. Talking about the Honor 7, it comes with 5.2-inch Full HD display along with in-house Kirin 935 processor.
The device packs 3GB of RAM that can easily handle the multitasking. In China, the device was launched in three different storage variants ranging from 16GB to 64GB. It has a 20MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus for fast focusing. The device features a 3,100mAh battery with fast charging support that can fully charge the battery in less than an hour.
In China, the device is launched in Silver, Gray, and Gold color options. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop-based EMUI 3.0 out-of-the-box. The device might compete against the likes of OnePlus 2 which is priced at Rs.24,999. In the recently released Q2 2015 mobile phone market details, the Huawei is in the third place only next to Samsung and Apple. In the smartphone shipments, with 9% of market share Huawei was way ahead of Xiaomi, which is in the fourth place with 5% global market share.
