Gionee W909 & Gionee S8 with 4GB RAM & 16MP Camera Officially Launched in China

As we exclusively covered earlier, Gionee officially launched its flagship Gionee S8 and the premium clamshell phone Gionee W909 today in China. Both the metallic build devices come packed with high-end specifications. While the Gionee S8 was first showcased at MWC 2016, the Gionee W909 might be limited to Chine consumers. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the devices outside China.
While the company has already few clamshell devices, the latest Gionee W909 comes with a leather finish on the back. It is the first clamshell phone to feature a fingerprint sensor. The device features dual 4.2-inch IPS displays with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by Helio P10 octa-core processor and includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. It also has a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage upto 128GB.
In the camera department, it has 16MP rear camera with PDAF and dual tone LED flash, and a 5MP front camera for selfies. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop but comes with customized OS on top. The device is backed by a 2,530mAh battery that is rated to deliver 30 hours of talk time and lasts upto 408 hours on standby. Connectivity options on this dual SIM device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It measures 124.1 x 62.8 x 16.5 mm and weighs 207.7 grams.
As we said earlier, the company has already unveiled the device at the MWC 2016 held in Barcelona in February. The device features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED display and is powered by the same Helio P10 processor as seen on the W909. The display on this device also supports 3D Touch with Quick Actions menu. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto another 128GB via provided MicroSD card slot.
It runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow based latest Amigo 3.2 UI overlaid. The MP device also includes 16MP rear camera with PDAF and laser autofocus, and also an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It is kept powered on by the 3,000mAh battery that can give upto 21 hours of talk time and lasts upto 255 hours of standby. The device offers 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE and includes USB Type-C port for faster data transfer speeds. The Gionee S8 measures 154.3 x 74.9 x 7 mm and weighs 152 grams.
The Gionee W909 is priced at 3,999 Yuan (approx $616 / Rs.41,000) while the Gionee S8 comes with a price tag of 2,599 Yuan (approx $400 / Rs.26,600). The listing on their official website shows the device only in Gold color while we can also expect the Gionee S8 in Silver and Rode Gold color as they announced at MWC 2016.
