Last week, Gionee has announced the unveiling of the Elife S8 to happen at the Mobile World Congress 2016 that will be held later this month. Apart from few features, the company hasn’t mentioned any information regarding the device. But we had exclusively posted the few known specifications of the upcoming device, all thanks the GeekBench listing. Now, we got the first look images and the specifications of the Gionee W909 that was first spotted on GeekBench in January.

While we all thought the device to be a bar shaped high-end device, the TENAA listing confirms the device to come in a Clamshell design. Earlier the company also launched the Gionee W900s with dual 1080p displays and a metal body giving it a premium look. The latest clamshell device from Gionee also comes with the same metal body with dual 4.2-inch TFT displays but are limited to just 720p resolution.

It is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. While the GeekBench listing shows the device to sport 4GB of RAM, based on the TENAA listing the actual device might come with just 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with customized UI laid on top. There is 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded upto an additional 128GB.

On the camera part, it has a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. On the left edge of the W909, we can find the volume rocker and on the right edge are the power button along with a MicroSD card slot. Interestingly, the device also features a fingerprint sensor just below the rear camera, but we cannot expect the same productivity as of the touch screen smartphones.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a MicroUSB port. It measures 124.6 x 62.5 x 16.4 mm and weighs around 210 grams. The listing shows the device in Gold color but at the time of launch, we can see the device in few more colors options. As the Gionee W909 is now listed on TENAA, the official launch of the device can happen in the next few weeks.
