Gionee M6, M6 Plus Smartphones win 2016 China’s mobile security Best Product Award

Last month Gionee unveiled the new M6 and the M6 Plus smartphones. As usual like all the other smartphones in the M series from the company, Gionee M6 and the M6 Plus both had massive batteries. But apart from that, for the first time, Gionee implemented something new with these smartphones. These devices had a ‘built-in security encryption chip’. What essentially these chips does is, it stores all the data into that chip, which makes it highly secure. It was highly appreciated by many in the industry.
Now according to the latest reports, both the M6 and the M6 Plus smartphones won the ‘2016 annual China’s mobile security best product’ award. This award was received by the company at China’s information security conference 2016. Various experts and scholars in Government, Finance, intelligent technology, cloud computing, industrial technology participated in the same. So this is a huge achievement by the company. As far as the device specs and features go, they are very impressive. The M6 comes with a 5.5″ FHD display on the front and the M6 Plus sports a slightly larger display at 6″.
Under the hood, both the devices include 2GHz Helio P10 octa-core processors and packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For the camera, we are looking at a 16-megapixel rear, whereas on the front we have an 8 megapixel front-facing selfie shooter. And as mentioned before, both the devices have massive batteries. The M6 has a 5,000 mAh battery and the M6 Plus has a 6,020 mAh battery. Both the devices also have a fingerprint scanner on the front which is embedded on the home button.
On the same lines, last month Blackberry also launched a new smartphone called the DTek 50, which also had some similar feature. However, soon after that, it was infected by the Quadrooter flaw, which was hitting all the Android smartphones. So maybe it is not as secure as the company claims it to be. Stay tuned for more info on this.
