Gionee F105 Metal Body Smartphone with 3GB RAM Launched in China for $197

Gionee, the Chinese mobile giant, has launched yet another handset in its fashion-centric F Series of smartphones. The new F105 handset is launched in China just a couple of days after it passed TENNA certification, which Phoneradar exclusively reported earlier. The brand has now three smartphones in this series including F103 and F303 that was launched last year, out of which only first handset is available in India.
The design focused smartphones from the brand has seen a lot audience because of its mid-range pricing. The brand that is known to introduce smartphones with largest battery capacity and slimmest smartphones is finally getting indulged into flaunting some styles and good specification in its mid-range smartphones. The new handset touts the all aluminum alloy build body.
Sporting a 5-inch 720p display it has a pixel deny of 294 PPI (Pixel Per Inch) with a 2.5D curved glass. The device is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor, which clocks at 1.3GHz and is accompanied by a Mali-T720 GPU. There is a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage available on the device, which can be expanded further via microSD card slot up to 128GB. These days companies are offering more and more RAM and internal storage on their mid-range range handsets, although, mid rangers with as much as 3GB RAM are still a rare sight.
Running on the Android Lollipop 5.1 version based operating system; the device runs on the latest Amigo 3.1 OS. You would be familiar with this interface if you have followed up with any Gionee devices launched last year. In the camera department, it has an 8-megapixel image sensor on the rear while the front facing camera is of the 5-megapixle image sensor. The camera package is pretty average when it comes to megapixel count, as many brands are offering up to 13MP modules in this range.
In terms of connectivity options, the device offers dual SIM, dual standby connections, interestingly both supports 4G LTE network connections. It also boasts a VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology that allows transferring HD voice over the connection, so that you can’t miss what other person is saying to you on the phone call. Measuring around 8.1mm in thickness and 155 gram in weight, it is not the slimmest and light weight handset in this range, but it does offer decent specification sheet. All this is powered by a 2400 mAh capacity battery, which should last a day, according to the company.
In a related news, Gionee recently revealed a new version of the Marathon M5 handset, M5 Lite in India, which was launched in China last year. It doesn’t sport a fingerprint sensor as its bigger sibling Marathon M5 Plus, but has a good amount of battery capacity as well as other features. We only hope that company would be announcing their new F-Series handset, F105, in India as well. Stay Tuned for more updates.
