Where everyone is gearing up to purchase a 4G LTE enabled Smartphone as the Reliance Jio fever is on the rise, we may very well see the eventual public launch of prepaid connections for JIO very soon. But as reported there might be some conditions as per who all would be able to get their hands on the free JIO SIM on the coming day of India’s independence, i.e. August 15.
You may have seen the reports that Jio SIM might be available for free whoever purchases a VoLTE enabled device priced at Rs 10,000. It isn’t confirmed yet if that is the case or not, but looking at company’s increasing amount of popularity, it might end up being true.
As the supposed launch date comes near, Jio is partnering up with new companies such as they did with Samsung, later HP to extend their 4G Data and Voice call services under Jio Preview Offer for 90 days. Now reports are coming in that company has tied up with Hotstar, the popular online streaming service from Star India.
Under this arrangement, the JIO subscribers would be getting the Premium Subscription of the Hotstar app, which is worth Rs 199 per month. As we know that JIo has its own set of apps that offers on-demand video streaming services by name Jio Play. The company offers around 300 Live TV channels in approximately 15 different languages.
The list includes channels from Sony, Zee, Colors, etc. While Star TV Channels are also included in the list, but Star India hasn’t given rights to broadcast their contents to its competition. That is where the partnership inked between Jio and HotStar come into play.
The integration is said to be done on the Jio Play app itself. Once you click any Star TV channel, it will take you to Google Play Store or App Store (depending upon your device) to download the Hotstar app. While if you already have the app, well, then you should be directed to the Hotstar app itself.
Any non-JIO subscribers may most probably need (unless they are also tied up for free service) to buy the premium subscription costing Rs 199/month. While the Jio subscribers won’t have to. As they can enjoy those privileges for free. The privileges apart from Star TV channels include movies as well as popular American TV Shows such as Silicon Valley, Game of Thrones, Prison Break and much more.
The Jio Subscribers would be getting these services for how much period is unknown for now as it isn;t mentioned by the brand yet. More, details can be expected once the service is released for public.
