Cubot is a well known Chinese smartphone brand for launching high-end devices with affordable pricing. Earlier the company had launched Cubot X15 priced around $150 and comes with a massive 16MP rear camera sensor. It also has a 1080p resolution display and runs on Android 5.1 Lolipop. Now the company had launched a new device called Cubot X17 which is the successor for Cubot X15. The device is already available for sale in China and is priced of $170.
It sports a 5-inch 2.5D IPS display with Full HD resolution and is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor. The device also includes 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with an expandable option via MicroSD card slot.
The device comes with the same 16MP rear camera that was earlier seen on the Cubot X15; it has an aperture of f/2.2 and dual LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and 88-degree wide angle lens. The company also included gesture capture, smile shot and few other features for capturing photos with ease. The Pic in Pic (PIP) mode and Live Photos are the unique camera features that can be seen only on this device.
It supports dual SIM dual standby by using hybrid SIM slot where you can replace the second SIM for MicroSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based customized UI. With just 6.1 mm thick and metallic frame around the device, it feels premium in hand. The device is powered by the 2,500mAh battery that could easily last for a single day of usage.
