A new Desire smartphone called Desire 728G from HTC had officially launched in India. Recently the company had launched the mid-range One E9s dual SIM smartphone priced at Rs. 23,500 and in the last month, the company had also unveiled the HTC One A9, which looks similar to the iPhone 6s. The Desire 728G Dual SIM smartphone will be launched in the next few days at Rs. 17,990. This is the same that was launched in Taiwan as HTC Desire 728 but with 2GB of RAM.

The device sports almost similar specs compared to the One E9s. It sports a 5.5-inch Super LCD2 display with a resolution of 720p. The device is powered by the 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor along with 1.5GB RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage and can be further expandable upto 2TB via MicroSD card slot. The device supports dual SIM but the lacks the 4G LTE connectivity that is even available in the entry-level devices.

It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI on top of it but according to the listing by Mahesh Telecom, it shows the device still runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash; and a 5MP selfie camera with a f/2.8 aperture on the front. Both the cameras can record video in Full HD resolution. There is also a 2,800mAh Li-Polymer battery that can give 21 hours of talk time and can last upto 485 hours on standby mode.

The 5MP selfie camera and battery are the only difference between Desire 728G and One E9s, where it came with a 4MP ultra pixel camera and smaller 2,600mAh battery. The design of the device looks similar to the earlier launched Desire smartphones. It also supports HTC’s BoomSound stereo speakers on the front. The device is now available in stock can be purchased through online and offline stores across India.
