Cherry Flare J1 & Flare Lite 2 Smartphones Launched in Philippines

Cherry Mobiles, a big mobile vendor in the Philippines, has launched two new handsets; Flare Lite 2 and Flare J1, they’re priced at Php 1,999 and Php 2,999 respectively. These two handsets come under the budget category and sports decent specifications for the price. The company is known to offer the pocket friendly smartphone in their home country and these two handsets are addition to the list.
The brand is also a partner with Google for the Android One initiative taken by the Sundar Pichai, earlier Android Division Head, who is now the CEO of Google Inc. The smartphone that we are talking about in this initiative is similar to the Android One handsets in India, Karbonn Sparkle V, Spice Dream UNO and Micromax Canvas A1. Of course, the design is different of each handset in this program, but the specifications have been kept under Google guidelines.
Talking about the Flare Lite 2, the device sports a small 4-inch WVGA (640 x 480 resolutions) display which is not much to be argued with. While you get a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage to support the Quad-core (unknown chipset) processor clocking at 1.2GHz. The storage space can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.
In terms of the camera department, it sports a 5-megapixel image sensor with LED Flash and a VGA camera module on the front. Regarding the connectivity options, it has 3G network support, EDGE, Dual SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB port. The device is running on the Android Kitkat 4.4 operating system, which is an outdated OS. It is powered by a 1400mAh capacity battery.
The Flare J1, on the other hand, is quite a better device when compared to the Flare Lite 2. The J1 sports a 5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Quad-core (Unknown chipset) processor clocking at 1.3GHz. Coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, it is not meant for smooth multitasking. Although, you can expand your storage space up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
The most interesting fact on this handset is that it is powered by an Android Lollipop 5.1. It is unknown whether there is a custom interface present or its just plain stock UI. The camera module on the rear is of 8-megapixel with LED while on the front it is of 2-megapixel. In terms of the connectivity, it has a 3G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB. All this is powered by a 2000mAh capacity battery.
