Blu Life One (2015) and Live 8 XL

Blu has just brought in a couple of new smartphones in the U.S. market, the Blu Life One (2015), and the Blu Life 8 XL smartphones. While one of them, i.e. the Life One 2015 was introduced at CES 2015, the Life 8 XL is a completely new device introduced today. Let’s talk about the two, in detail.

Blu Life One (2015)

This device comes with a 5-inch 720p IPS display, and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (quad-core, 1.2 GHz), along with 1GB of RAM. The phone has 8GB of internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot allows for storage expansion. It has a 13-megapixel rear, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. This dual-SIM smartphone has a 2820 mAh battery, and it is capable of 4G LTE connectivity.

Amazon.com already has the Blu Life One available for pre-order at $99, and the expected shipping date is June 19th.

Blu Life 8 XL

This is a larger device, with a 5.5-inch 720p display, and it has an octa-core processor, i.e. Mediatek MT6592M Cortex A7 chipset, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. With the camera combination, this is not that good because there is a 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Even this is a Dual-SIM device, but it does not support 4G LTE connectivity.

The Blu Life 8 XL packs a 2920 mAh battery, and even this is available for pre-order, for a price of $129. The shipping date is July 1st. Both the smartphones are still on Android KitKat, and the Lollipop update is definitely expected on both these smartphones. Blu doesn’t have a great record of sending Android updates to its devices, so getting Lollipop update is the best we expect, although in a few months, Android M will be what new phones from several brands might carry during launch.
