Last month, BBK announced a new smartphone brand called IMOO for selling the educational smartphones. Later we had exclusively reported the first device to be named as IMOO Get and sports the model number M1000. The teaser images also suggested few educational content to be loaded onto the device. But the company had officially launched the IMOO Get priced at 2998 Yuan (approx $450 / Rs. 30,000), surprisingly other brands from BBK like OPPO and Vivo had rarely priced devices at such a high price. OnePlus‘s latest smartphone OnePlus 3 is priced at 2599 Yuan and sports flagship specifications that competitive with any other premium flagship devices.

With a price tag of 2998 Yuan, the device is said to offer free educational content from 1 to 12 classes (primary school to high school). IMOO Get also has a video catalogue of 1,20,000 educational videos that can be streamed online and the brand also mentioned to have a team of 300 teachers. On the rear of the device is the Laser Sensor that can scan mathematics formulas or the text and give instant answers or meaning or language translation. It also shows the appropriate videos tailored for the keyword scanned. All these new features are clubbed into a new OS called StudyOS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

On the left edge of the device is the GET key for scanning using the laser sensor with just one touch. The device comes with parental control app that can limit the usage of entertainment apps. Talking about the specifications, the device sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is no MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage. In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP selfie camera on the front.

The device is backed by a 2930mAh battery that can last at least for a single day of usage. It measures 158 x 78 x 7 mm and weighs 155 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It comes only in Gold color and is currently available for pre-booking until July 20th. The device will not leave the shores of its home country since it is built around the Chinese content.
