Back in October 2018, ASUS launched two new low-cost smartphones called ZenFone Lite L1 & ZenFone Max M1 in the Indian market. Both these smartphones were exclusively made available via Flipkart. The ASUS Zenfone Lite L1 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage was launched for Rs 5,999. On the other hand, the ASUS Zenfone Max M1 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage came with a price tag of Rs 7,499. Now, the company a price cut on both these devices. While the Zenfone Max M1 received a price cut of Rs 500, the pricing of the Zenfone Lite L1 is marked down by Rs 1,000.

Interestingly, the price cut comes right after the company introduces a new version of the ZenFone Lite L1 smartphone. The new ZenFone Lite L2 looks exactly similar to its predecessor but comes in a gradient color finish. Even we can also find a lot of similarities between the Zenfone Lite L2 and Zenfone Max M1. The devices run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ZenUI 5.0 skin on the top. However, the company also launched the Android Go variant of the Zenfone Lite L1 with just of 1GB of RAM in a few other Asian markets.

Both the Zenfone Lite L1 and Zenfone Max M1 comes with a 5.45-inch IPS display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform clocked at 1.4GHz. While the Zenfone Lite L1 came with 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, the Zenfone Max M1 sports 13MP rear camera and 8M front camera. Compared to the 4000mAh battery on the Zenfone Max M1, the Zenfone Lite L1 comes with a slightly smaller 3,000mAh battery.

Unlike the Zenfone Max M1, there is no fingerprint scanner on the Zenfone Lite L1 smartphone. However, both the devices support face unlock using the front camera. We can also see some visual differences on both these smartphones. With the price cut on these older smartphones, we can expect the company too soon make the ZenFone Lite L2 available in the country.
