ASUS Zenfone Go 4.5 with 4.5″ Display & 1GB RAM Launched at Rs. 5,299

ASUS had launched its most affordable Zenfone Smartphone here in India today. The ASUS Zenfone Go 4.5 priced at Rs. 5,299 is an entry-level smartphone that comes with basic specifications. Earlier to this, the company had launched the 5-inch Zenfone Go with 2GB of RAM in September this year that is priced slightly higher at Rs. 7,999. Apart from the RAM, we can find many other specifications have been lowered to make the device much cheaper.

Announcing the availability for ZenFone Go, Peter Chang, Regional Head of ASUS India, said,

“ZenFone Go wraps up an extremely successful year for us in India. We are elated to see the response that we received through the year for our ZenFone range of smartphones and are sure that our offering for the budget segment packed with features at an affordable price, will be appreciated by our users as well.”

It comes with a smaller 4.5-inch display with FWVGA (854 x 480) resolution while the 2GB RAM variant came with 5-inch HD display. Both the devices are powered by the same 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor and includes 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 64GB via provided MicorSD card slot.

The device runs on ZenUI 2.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports dual SIM dual standby. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, and a 0.3MP selfie camera with fixed focus on the front. On the other hand, the 5-inch Zenfone Go came with much better 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera.

It has a 1,600mAh removable polymer battery that can give up to 10.9 hours of talk time and lasts up to 355 hours on standby. The device lacks the 4G LTE support that can found in the other devices at this same price range. Connectivity options on this device include 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It will also be available via offline stores starting from January 2016.

The Zenfone Go 4.5 feels bulky in hand by measuring 10.1mm thick and weighing 133 grams. While the company mentioned the device to be available in the Black, White, Pink, and Blue colors; Flipkart listed only the Black color variant of Zenfone Go. At the upcoming CES 2016, the company is expected to launch the Zenfone 3 smartphone. Stay tuned for more updates!
