XOLO, one of the top Indian smartphone manufacturer, has launched a new entry-level device called XOLO One HD. With the increased competition from the local manufacturers and the Chinese counterparts, the companies are now pricing their devices very aggressively to stay ahead of the competition. The One HD is priced at just Rs. 4,777 and is one of the few devices to offer an HD display at this price range.
It features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) resolution IPS display and is powered by MediaTek MT6580M quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The One HD also supports dual SIM dual standby but lacks the 4G LTE connectivity.
The device is backed by a 2,300mAh battery that can give 5 hours of talk time and almost 7 hours of music playback. On the camera part, it has an 8MP rear camera with OmniVision BSI-2 sensor and a 5 MP front camera 84-degree wide angle lens. Interestingly both the cameras are accompanied by an LED flash that ca capture decent images even in the dark light conditions.
Though it lacks 4G LTE, the device offers other connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device will be available only in White color and can be purchased exclusively through Amazon India. According to the company, the registrations for the sale begins in next three days.
Last week, the company had also launched a new variant of the XOLO Black 1X with 3GB of RAM. Apart from the RAM, there are no differences between the both the devices. The 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 11,999 while the 2GB variant costs only Rs. 9,999.
For Black 1X, the company partnered exclusively with Snapdeal. In the last couple of months, there are few other smartphones launched by Indian manufacturers that came with 3GB of RAM. Intex had launched the Cloud Swift at Rs. 8,888 while Micromax came up with Canvas 5 with a price tag of Rs. 11,999.
