Last month, Asus unveiled the new Zenfone 4 series smartphones at an event held in Taiwan. Today, the company has launched two selfie-centric smartphones under the Zenfone 4 series called as Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro in the Indian market. Unlike the other Zenfone 4 smartphones, the Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro features dual cameras on the front. However, the company also launched an affordable Zenfone 4 Selfie with single front facing camera. All the three selfie-centric smartphones will be exclusively sold through Flipkart in India starting September 21st.

The smartphones will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based Zen UI 4.0 out of the box. Asus also promised to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming months. All the Zenfone 4 Selfie devices support dual SIM dual standby using the non-hybrid slot. Connectivity options on these devices include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Zenfone 4 Selfie

The Zenfone 4 Selfie itself comes in two different variants with different camera sensors. Both the variants come with a unibody design and sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 × 720 pixels) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass laid on top. Under the hood is the 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. While the high-end variant offers 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, the base variant comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB.

The 3GB RAM variant comes with a 13MP rear camera and the 4GB RAM variant sports a much better 16MP sensor. As the name suggests, the company is more focused on offering better selfie experience with the Zenfone 4 Selfie. On the 4GB RAM variant, there is a 20MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the front with f/2.0 aperture, 120-degree wide-angle lens, and LED flash. Coming to the 3GB RAM variant, the dual front camera setup features 13MP and 8MP sensors. The devices are backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and measures 7.85 mm thick. While the Zenfone 4 Selfie with the single front camera costs Rs. 9,999, the dual camera variant is priced very aggressively at Rs. 14,999.

Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro

Unlike the Zenfone 4 Selfie, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It got the 5-magnet Hi-Fi speakers with NXP Smart Amp and also the dual internal microphone with Asus Noise Reduction Technology. The device measures 154.02 x 74.83 x 6.85 mm and weighs 147 grams.

Talking about the rear camera, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro sports a 16MP Sony IMX351 sensor with EIS, PDAF, 80-degree wide-angle lens, and dual LED flash. On the front is the 12MP + 12MP (according to Asus, its 24MP) dual camera setup with f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens, 3-axis EIS, 120-degree wide-angle lens, and 4K selfie video support. The 3,000mAh non-removable battery on this device only supports 5V/2A (10W) fast charging technology. With all these high-end specifications, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro is priced at Rs. 23,999.
