The Taiwanese Tech Giant ASUS first announced the Zenfone AR smartphone at CES 2017 show floor earlier this. This is the company’s new Tango-enabled smartphone that literally took everybody’s attention at the CES 2017 show floor. And now, after all these months, it looks like the company is all set to launch the smartphone officially. Yes, according to the new reports which we have, it looks like the smartphone will be launching this summer.

The company appears to be sending out media invites for an event which is scheduled to take place in Taiwan on June 14th. The company has informed us that although the Zenfone AR will be a part of this event, it will not be launching on that date. As far as the launch is concerned, this will be the second smartphone to come with Project Tango support. However, it looks like we will be getting a 6GB RAM variant as supposed to the much rumored 8GB RAM. This will support the Google’s Daydream project. With all that said, this certainly looks like a promising smartphone indeed.

Now, talking about some other specs of the smartphone, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. On the front, we will be seeing a 5.7″ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 which makes it a QHD display. As mentioned earlier, this smartphone will have 6GB of RAM. The smartphone will also carry 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 23MP Sony IMX318 sensor which will be accompanied by TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF, second-gen Laser Focus, etc. This camera will feature a 4-axis OIS and 3-axis EIS. On the front, there will be an 8MP front facing sensor which should be good for those sharp selfies. The entire package will be kept powered by a 3,300 mAh battery.

As far as the global launch is concerned, it looks like the smartphone will debut soon in the U.S as well. As far as India is concerned, we should be seeing this around the month of August.
