Apple Watch Series 4 Launched with Bigger Display & Built-in ECG App

The new Apple Watch Series 4 is the first product to be unveiled at the Apple’s special launch event today at its Steve Jobs theatre at the Apple headquarters in California. Apple Watch is not only the top-selling smartwatch but also the number one watch in the world. The new Apple Watch Series 4 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes and offers over 30% larger display. They also got a new watch face which shows up to 8 complications. As seen in the leaks, the bezels look very small compared to their predecessors.
The digital crown is now completely re-engineered to offer haptic feedback. While the speaker is improved to offer more sound, the mic has been moved to the opposite side to decrease the echo. The S4 chip inside the Apple Series 4 packs a 64-bit dual core CPU and a W3 wireless chip. The company is using the black sapphire crystal on the back to improve the cell reception. There are also an advanced accelerometer and gyroscope to more accurate tracking.
It also got an SOS feature where the Apple Watch can detect a fall and will call emergency services and shared location to the emergency contact. The new heart-monitoring features including notifying for low heart rate and when there is an elevation in the heart-rate. The digital crown now features electrodes to take an electrocardiogram (ECG) test. It takes around 30 seconds to give you a complete heart-rate analysis and the data will be stored in the health app.
The Apple Watch Series 4 is waterproof and comes with LTE and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Even with added features, the new Series 4 will give the same 18-hours battery life as seen on its predecessor. It comes in Silver, Space Black, and Gold color options. Talking about the pricing, the Apple Watch Series 4 will be retailing from $399. The Apple Watch Series 4 cellular variant will be available from $499.
