Apple Confirms Sep 12th Event – Expect 3 iPhones, Apple Watch 2017, & More

As speculated earlier, Apple has sent out the media invites confirming the launch date for their new products as September 12th. The event will kick off from 10:30 pm IST (Indian Standard Time). It will be held at the Steve Jobs theater on its new headquarters in Cupertino. While this is only information revealed by the company, the leaks have revealed what you should expect from the event. Firstly, there will be three new iPhones – one special edition device alongside the successors to iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus. Talking about the other gadgets, we might see a new 4K Apple TV and Apple Watch on the launch day.
The iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus will be successors to last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. As seen last year, the company will also launch only the iPhone 7S Plus with dual camera setup. Compared to last year’s iPhone 7 devices, the new iPhone 7S devices will be slightly longer, wider, and thicker. However, the normal users can’t feel that difference. The new iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus might come with Aluminum frame and glass back body. With the glass on the back, the device will finally get the wireless charging support, but it’s charging rate will be much lower than what we get with the Samsung fast wireless charger.
The display and Touch ID might remain same as on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Coming to the iPhone 8 (or iPhone X), it will be totally different to the previously launched iPhones. It comes with glossy finish back body and we might see premium material like ceramic instead of just glass. There will also be a vertical dual camera setup on the rear of the device. On the front, we will be looking at a gorgeous edge-to-edge display with a cut out on the top for the front camera, IRSI sensor, earpiece, and a bunch of other sensors. Samsung first introduced the IRIS sensor with the Galaxy Note 7 launched in the second half of 2016.

If the rumors are to believed, the power button on the right edge will come with an integrated fingerprint sensor as seen on the flagship Sony Xperia devices. Finally, the company will start using the OLED display panels starting with the iPhone 8. Under the hood, these new iPhones will be powered by the new A11 chipset that will be built using the 10nm FinFET process. If you are thinking to opt for the iPhone 8 instead of the iPhone 7S devices, get ready to pay around $1000. Jumping to the other categories, there will also be a new Apple Watch and it might come with built-in LTE connectivity to work as a standalone device.
Based on the rumors, Apple will also launch the fourth-gen Apple TV that is capable of streaming in 4K resolution. It will also support HDR output to compete with other streaming devices available in the market. Along with these devices, we will also see the public release of the latest macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS updates. Takes all these details with a pinch of salt and wait for the September 12th launch event to get the official information. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
