Apple 7th-Gen iPad to still retain 3.5mm Headphone Jack & Touch ID: Report

Last week, Apple trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple is working on its first AR product and will most likely hit the mass production by the end of this year and would be available in the market by the early next year. Now, new reports are citing the next-gen iPad as well. According to the latest reports, it is believed that Apple might be holding to the same design as the 6th-gen iPad for the upcoming 7th-gen iPad this year. And also it would be launched against the revamped iPad mini presumably iPad mini-5, suggests the report.

According to Mac Otakara report, Apple is no mood to redesign the 7th-gen iPad considering its price bracket, which is intended to the education sector. Instead, the 7th-gen iPad would be featuring the same design as last years’ featuring – the Touch ID and the 3.5mm headphone jack, which were removed in the latest 9.7-inch iPad Pro model and further might be continued in the upcoming Pro models as well. Apple had also brought the Apple Pencil support with the 6th-Gen iPad, last year.

As for the upcoming 7th-gen iPad is concerned, there wouldn’t be any radical designed changes; however, the screen size of the iPad isn’t yet confirmed. While it might be the same 9.7-inch screen, there are rumors according to the report suggesting a 10-inch iPad model as well. Henceforth, considering the new report cited, it is safe to say that the upcoming 2019 iPad will be the same as the 6th-gen but with upgraded processor and presumably better cameras and would most likely be stuck to lightning connector, instead of USB Type-C, which is understandable as the iPad is projected as a budget iPad for the education sector.

And, lastly, as stated the iPad 7th-gen would most likely launch alongside the upgraded iPad Mini 5. The launch event is rumored to be happening soon in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
