There’s no doubt that Samsung has launched its best smartphone this year in the form of Galaxy S6. With such hardware and performance, it has hard for other manufacturers to compete, mostly because of its unique style and a legacy to maintain, S6 has proven that future of flagship models is about to change a lot.
While talking about the waves its latest Touch Wiz UI has made, which is of course based on Android Lollipop, it seemed that consumers in the market had quite a good feedback. We especially like how less clutter free and smoother it was. Although, more or less it still sports the same design language, which is mostly unliked by the tech community. Its owners have been craving for a design change since quite the time now, as the Galaxy S series has been sporting the TouchWiz UI since six generations.
Though, you can still fulfill your wish of having Stock Android experience on your Galaxy S6. All thanks to the Developer, Samer Zayer. It might have taken months after the official release of the device, but since Samsung now allows to change the Themes on their S6 handsets via Samsung Theme Store. According to Samer, it took him three weeks to polish the and finally publish the theme. It’s a full stock Material Design theme and currently made available for free. Let’s get started on the steps to get the Android Lollipop Look on your Samsung Galaxy S6.
Note: The theme works on both, Samsung Galaxy S6, and S6 Edge.
- Pinch on the home screen to see the options, and there tap on Themes to go to the page that shows few pre-installed themes. Here, tap on the “Store” button on the top right side to visit the Theme Store.
- Currently that theme is featured, but if not then you have just to search for the word material, and it would show the theme in the store.
- Hit the Download button and once it is downloaded you can apply it. Changes are seen in every section – Home screens, phone app, app icons, app drawer, notification panel, settings.
The theme looks quite impressive and beautifully design, which is matching the interface of the original stock Android. Samsung’s TouchWiz might have remained the same, but don’t let it stop you to have some fun while using your S6, install the material design theme using above steps and enjoy.
