2014 Flagship Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S5 vs LG G3 vs Sony Xperia Z2 vs HTC One M8

2014 has been a year of 4K video recording, many had thought. But the companies don’t fail to surprise us when they come up with something better in the other aspects too. LG sets a new benchmark now, with the LG G3 having a Quad HD display, where all the flagships from the other brands were selling good with 1080p resolution screens. But has LG hit the right target with it? has it packed in everything what a user would have wanted? Check it out below.
Display wise, it’s the LG G3 clearly emerging as a winner because of the 2K resolution display, 2560×1440 pixels taking the pixel density to 534 PPI. That’s brilliant, when compared to the 1080p resolution displays in all the three other devices in comparison.
The processor in all the four devices is the same, Snapdragon 801, although the chipsets differ a bit and the Galaxy S5, LG G3 hold an edge over the others with a higher clocking speed. The RAM is 2GB in Galaxy S5, the 16GB variant of LG G3 and in the HTC One M8, while it’s 3GB in the Xperia Z2. The 3GB RAM is seen in the 32GB variant of the LG G3.
Numbers don’t really matter when you talk about the camera in these devices, because the G3 has a 13MP shooter but it comes with the OIS+ and the Laser Autofocus with Dual LED Dual-tone flash, while the Galaxy S5 has a 16MP shooter with some excellent modes and options, with the 4K video recording which is seen even in the G3 and the Xperia Z2 but the HTC One M8’s 4-megapixel Ultrapixel camera limits the video recording to a maximum of 1080p Full HD resolution, and there are two cameras on the back of the device, something special from HTC on that.
