ZTE launched its new budget smartphone Blade A2 in China. It is the successor to the popular Blade A1 which was first announced in 2015. The Blade A2 is not a significant upgrade since most of the internal specifications remain same as on its predecessor. The appealing factors of this new variant are it’s looks and aesthetics. Instead of the polycarbonate body, ZTE came with an all-metal body for the Blade A2, which looks better than last year’s variant.
The new Blade A2 is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and Mali T860 GPU. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, which is same as on the Blade A1 . The company says the new variant has an upgraded 360-degree fingerprint sensor and claims that it can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds. It also has dual SIM dual standby support with the help of hybrid SIM slot and offers 4G LTE and VoLTE.
It has a 13MP primary camera with PDAF and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Both the cameras are accompanied with LED flash which helps in capturing better images even in low light conditions. Just the 13MP, we can find the circular fingerprint sensor. The Blade A2 is backed by a 2,500mAh battery which is smaller than the 2,800mAh battery of Blade A1. It will be available only in Silver, Grey and Gold color options.
The Blade A2 measuring 7.9 mm thickness is 1mm slimmer than the Blade A1. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with MiFavor UI overlaid. The speaker cut out look different giving it a more modern look.
