Now a new device codenamed ‘Xiaomi Gemini’ is spotted on Benchmarking site GeekBench.

We expect the device is the Mi5 by seeing the flagship specifications. As per the listing, it runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI laid on top of it. It’s GeekBench scores include 2140 on a single core and 4762 on an multi core. As per the earlier leaks the device comes in two variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM’s. Since the possible launch date is less than a month away, we can expect more leaks to be followed soon.

Earlier: Oct 3, 2015 – Based on the previous rumors, Xiaomi Mi5 will be the first smartphone to come equipped with the Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor Snapdragon 820. According to the latest rumors, this will also be  the first to feature Qualcomm’s latest fingerprint sensing technology called as ‘Snapdragon Sense ID 3D Fingerprint Technology.’

While announcing the Snapdragon 820 processor in March 2015, the company also unveiled this new technology on the same stage. This new sensor can detect the fingerprints using the ultrasonic sensors. It can even work with wet or dirty fingers and saves your biometric information in your smartphone instead of the servers.

By using the ultrasonic sensors, this new technology can create a 3D map of your finger which in return helps to unlock as quick as possible. Another interesting part of this new technology, unlike the current fingerprint sensors this can be hidden under any material like the plastic or metal. Let’s wait for the official details of the smartphone to see how Xiaomi uses this new technology to place the fingerprint sensor.

Earlier: Sep 28, 2015 – Last week Xiaomi has officially launched the latest smartphone Mi4c. It comes with Snapdragon 808, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and it is priced very aggressively at just $235. Next smartphone expected to be launched is its upcoming flagship Mi5, there are many rumors about the device and today there is a new rumor suggesting few changes to earlier leaked specifications.

Well-known leakster, Leaksfly has posted on his Weibo account that the Mi5 will be first smartphone to be launched with Snapdragon 820 processor. The 5.2-inch display comes with Full HD resolution instead of earlier rumored Quad HD resolution. It comes in two variants, one with 16GB of internal storages and the other with 32GB, it also has 4GB of RAM.

Talking about the camera, it comes with a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based  Miui 7. There is no information about the fingerprint sensor and 64GB variant, but we can expect them to be included. As of now, the launch date and pricing of the device are not mentioned, we will update the article once we have a source. until then stay tuned…!

Earlier: Sep 5,2015 – Xiaomi has been aggressive with its launches off late, and that has been a reason why the company jumped into top five in the global market share for smartphone brands. The company has launched its flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi4 last year and even after a year the company hasn’t updated its flagship series. Now the company has posted a image with the number 5 and a tag line “Are you ready” with an image of fingerprint. We expect the company to unveil the Xiaomi Mi5 within one or two months.

Though the early rumors suggest that the device will be launched with Snapdragon 820 SoC. The company might  think to bring flagship device as early as possible. So instead of Snapdragon 820, the device might launch with Snapdragon 810 processor which was earlier used in the Mi Note. Like the other Snapdragon 810 powered smartphones, the Mi Note also received the negative feedback over the overheating of the smartphone.

If rumors are to be believed, the Mi5 is going to pack in, a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top of it. It will be powered by Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor coupled along with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB RAM.

Apart from the Image, the company hasn’t confirmed any details about the device take them with a pinch of salt. Recently the specifications of the Mi4c also leaked, this is the Chinese variant of Mi4i with Snapdragon 808 instead of Snapdragon 615. The other specifications of the device are same as on the Mi4i, it has a 5-inch Full HD Display, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

The Mi4c also lacks the microSD card slot since it comes with only 16GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7 and is expected to be priced at $229. Stayed tuned for more information about the pricing and availability of the Xiaomi Mi5.

  • Yes I think so. And I think that it is going to be a booming sell. Xiaomi is already very popular and has a huge fanbase that can actually garner 1 billion dollars which is impressive. Even with the term flagship “device” I think users would be most excited about a new super powerful smartphone with an 810 processor at a cheap price. And you are right about the bezels for the mi5!! I hope flagship specs are packed in as well!

  • Well if it is the mi5 then probably HTC’s new leaks (by AnTuTu) is not going to be stand up, why???, because wherever I think Xiaomi will launch it at low price and HTC will launch its HIMA with high price with same specs ( so far same) so people will attract towards the Xiaomi rather than HTC and also Mentioned above that Xiaomi is going to have 2k display in its next device(which might be MI5)

The Mi5 is going to be big. Like really big. I expect bezels like the LG series and maybe even better and a screen like Apples, Clear and very detail bound and the 2k display is going to astonishing. Also i expect smart software and tricks like samsung and all in all its going to be a smartphone setting the standard in 2015. And with all that in the box i also expect to see a really low price.

I think the more chance of a Mi5 and a less chance of a new generation Note device that could be launched. If it’s truly going to be Mi5 then I can say it’ll sell like hot cake and surely breaks its own record of previous sells which Xiaomi always claimed about and all this because of their great pricing. But I still want a more cleaned ui from Mi than previous one and I hope to have it in the next flagship because with high end specs user experience does matter much. And wholly the CES is going to make a noise at the knock of 2015. Excited to see much more.
