Xiaomi Mi4c with 1080p Display, Snapdragon 808 SoC, USB Type-C Launched at $200

There are a few rumors that Xiaomi is launching a new variant of Mi4i in China as Mi4c. Last week the company has confirmed by posting an image of the launch invite of the Mi4c on their official Weibo page. Today Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi4c in Beijing, China with much powerful hardware than the earlier launched Mi4i. This is also the first Xiaomi device to feature USB Type-C port that was first seen on OnePlus 2.

Coming to the specifications of the device, it sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The Mi4i came with 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor that made the device heat up a lot. It includes the same 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that are found on Mi4i, and there will also be another variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The other interesting feature on this device is the USB Type-C port. As said earlier this is the first Xiamoi smartphone to feature USB Type-C port. The package also includes a microUSB to USB Type-C converter through which a normal MicroUSB charger can also be used to charge the device.

It comes with a 3,080mAh battery along with Quick Charge 2.0 support for faster charging. The device measures 138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8 mm and weighs 132 grams. This new device comes in all new Orange color package instead of the Xiaomi’s conventional brown color recycled package. The device comes pre-loaded with MIUI 6 and will be updated to MIUI 7 within two weeks.

There is a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and phase detection autofocus that helps the device to focus in less than a 0.1 second. As per the company, the device comes with SONY IMX258 or Samsung S5K3M2 sensor. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens and beautify mode for capturing better selfies. On the software front, the company has introduced a new ‘Edge Tap’ for clicking images just by tapping on the edge of the smartphone. 

There is an IR blaster for controlling the electronics like a remote controller. With just 3-steps, the device setups the remote mode for more than 2,000 brands. The Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, GPS/A-GPS, and Bluetooth.

It will be available on the colors – White, Black, Blue, Pink, and Orange. As rumored earlier, there will be only one million handsets available for sale that will be held on September 23rd on company’s official website. The 2GB RAM variant is priced at RMB1,299 (approx $200) and the 32GB variant at RMB1,499 (approx $235).
