Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with 3GB RAM & S-Pen Support launched in South Korea

Last month we reported that the new Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will be launched in the company’s home region, South Korea. As expected Samsung launched the new Galaxy Tab A 10.1 there. And as now it looks like the tablet is going to remain exclusive to South Korea only, so we might have to wait for quite some time until it changes. This is a new addition to the existing line Tab A. The company offers some good tablets in this series and are known for its modest specs for the price tag. However, this new Galaxy Tab A 10.1 has another new feature up its sleeve. Yes, this one comes with a support for Samsung’s S-Pen.

The tablet can now recognise various levels of pressure which allows you to make thicker lines, etc. As far as specs are concerned, it comes with a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display. It is powered by the 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor and comes with 3GB of RAM. The tablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It has 32GB storage and is powered by a 7,300 mAh battery. It is priced at ₩ 489,000 in South Korea which roughly translates to about 29,400 INR. Earlier: The South Korean smartphone manufacturing company Samsung announced the latest tablet in the Galaxy Tab A series called the Galaxy Tab A 10.1. Last month at the time of the announcement, the company unveiled the pricing and availability of the device only for Europe and no information for the South Korean market was given.

Today the company has revealed that it will launch the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 in its home country, and it will be available to purchase starting next month. Consumers will be able to buy it in two variants Wi-Fi only or LTE. The pricing will start at 359,000 won ($310) for the Wi-Fi only option and the LTE option will be sold for 399,000 won ($346).

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch TFT 16:10 display with a resolution of 1920×1200, a 1.6Ghz Cortex a53 & Exynos 7870 processor coupled with a 2GB of RAM. It will have 16GB of expandable internal storage up to 200GB and an 8-megapixel rear facing camera which can record at 1080p at 30 frames per second and a 2-meapixel front-facing shooter, which is a fairly decent mid-ranged offering. The internals is powered by a 7,300 mAh battery.

The tablet will be running the latest build of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, skinned with the company’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. The company has opted to use stereo speakers here, which can be spotted at the bottom. This means that there would be no muffling of audio if the tablet is placed on a flat surface. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, FM radio and an accelerometer sensor & proximity sensor for automation.

This is a successor to the previously launched Galaxy Tab A 9.7 which had a quad-core processor. It was sold in two variants, a Wi-Fi only 1.5GB RAM with 16GB storage one and the other with LTE 2GB RAM & 16GB/32GB storage. We also have an upgraded camera with the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 over the previously offered 5-megapixel camera. As mentioned earlier, the device will be available to purchase starting next month and will be available in black and white color options. Samsung also launched a tablet in India with an Iris scanner built-in, called Galaxy Tab Iris.
