Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 at the ‘Next Galaxy Unpacked’ event held on on August 13 in New York, US . The device looks same as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched with dual edge screen. The 32GB variant model is priced at Rs.57,900 and comes in the colors – Gold and Silver. It will be available to buy starting from August 28. There is no information about the pricing and availability of the 64GB variant.
The device packs the same 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display that we seen on the Galaxy Note 5, but as earlier mentioned it comes with dual edge screen. Under the hood, it packs a 64-bit Exynos 7420 octa-core processor manufactured with 14nm process. The S6 Edge+ comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with almost same specs apart from the display.
The company announced the device with three different storage options 32GB, 64Gb and 128GB internal storages with no MicroSD card support. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiZ UI. Coming to the camera, it has a 16MP rear camera with OIS along with aperture f/1.9 and dual LED flash. On the front it has a 5MP device which also has the aperture of f/1.9.
It has a 3,000mAh non-removable battery along with quick charge support. The device supports the fast charging both wired and wireless. It has NFC support which can make the device to use the about to launch Samsung Pay. Samsung announced that the Samsung Pay will be first available in South Korea starting August 20. It measures 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 mm and weighs 153 grams.
The connectivity on this device include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO(2×2), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and USB 2.0. It comes in the colors – White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. Coming to the official accessories, the keyboard cover for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is priced at Rs.4,499 and the wireless charger is priced at Rs.3,599
