Pokemon Go App messes with your Brain like Drugs – Recommended to Not Play by Scientist

Pokémon Go took over the world like a storm and people are still trying to get over it. The AR based game was initially launched in only a few countries, but others across the world got their hands on the game somehow and started playing this wildly popular game. You can follow these simple steps and download the game if it is not officially launched in your country yet. The game was everywhere and in a way it was affecting lives of people directly or indirectly. One such scenario being, people randomly walking into places where they’re not supposed to go etc.

Talking about scientific reasons on how it is affecting people, there is an entire list to go through. According to the recent studies, it is suggested that the game is actually messing up with our brains. Elan Barenholtz, Ph.D., an associate professor in the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences at Florida Atlantic University, claims that the effect of playing Pokémon Go is similar to that of doing drugs. You might be wondering how? it turns out that the inclusion of real life in the game has a major impact.

According to him, when players go out around the environment and when you get the video game feedback at the same time, your brain is tricked in a way to feel that it is actually out there in that position. It is kind of like an illusion and you know it is wrong but you still buy it anyway. Your brain has a major role on this. Especially, when it is rewarded with progress and when you compete with others at the same time in the same place, it becomes much more addictive.

However, note that this study is just a speculation and there no studies to actually prove it. But it makes sense in a way. How many of you visited a particular place again, just because you caught a good Pokémon at that location before? See, it makes sense. So if there is anything to take from this speculation, then it is probably the fact that, the game shouldn’t be played or if you want to play, then do it moderately and don’t go crazy on the hunts. Excess of anything is not good and it applies here as well. With that being said, if you wish to progress quickly then read our tips and tricks to play Pokémon Go. If you are facing server issues etc. then read our top 5 issues and fix for that. Stay tuned for info on this study.
