Indians can store Driving License & Registration Certificate on their Smartphones with DigiLocker

Do you leave your driving license at home and keep forgetting it to carry along and fall in problem regularly? If yes, then there is good news for everyone because the Indian government has announced a new application, wherein the user can upload their driving license and the registration card. The application is dubbed as DigiLocker that will store these documents to the digital cloud service. There was a similar application launched by the RTA of Telangana that digitally stores the Driving License and RC which was called as m-wallet and is only applicable in Telangana region.

Now this idea has been implemented by the Indian government that will be a life saver to many. The this DigiLocker saves the data on the cloud, and this can be shown to the police whenever asked for. To use this feature, the user needs to download the DigiLocker application onto their smartphone and log in to it by providing the necessary details and link the phone number to it. Now this proof can be shown when asked for, and it is a valid proof that will be accepted by the officials wherein they will be verifying the documents seamlessly with the application from the National Register of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

This feature will be available starting today and is limited to Indian users. Digilocker is an application that was released last year by the Indian government to store various documents on the cloud. The app allows the user to store data of 1GB that can be used to save the ID proofs like Aadhar card, PAN (Permanent Account Number) and Voter ID. This app uses biometric-enabled Aadhar card for the authentication by scanning the bar code.

This move from the Indian government should be appreciated as it will bring a vast change to the society with its digitalization that will be saving lot of time and energy.
