The Chinese Manufacturer Huawei launched their earlier teased smartphone ‘Honor 7i‘ with a model number ATH-AL00. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0 that can be flipped upto 180 degrees to make it a selfie camera. The rotatable module holds the Sony CMOS sensor along with the dual-tone LED flash. If you are thinking of the quality of the module, it can easily last for up to two years even if you flip the camera 136 times a day.
The company teased about this device by posting some images on social media sites along with a tag ‘You Can Change The Vision Together’ on August 11. The Huawei Mate 7 Mini with a smaller 4.7-inch display is also rumored to launch along with this device, but that’s not happened.
Oppo N1, which is launched in 2013, was the first device to sport a 206-degrees rotatable camera that can be locked at any angle, the same feature was later introduced by Gionee with its mid-range device ‘Gionee E7 Mini.’ The device comes build in Aluminium body and sport a 5.2-inch FullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with a pixel density of 424ppi.
It comes powered by the newly announced 64-bit Snapdragon 616 octa-core chipset with Adreno 405 GPU. It is upgraded version of Snapdragon 615 with very minimal changes. The device comes with two variants, one with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage while the other variant features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The device supports dual SIM dual standby via a hybrid SIM slot that can be used for using microSD card (up to 32GB) instead of one SIM. It is powered by a Li-Polymer battery of 3,100mAh capacity that gives 11 hours of talk time and lasts up to 400 hours on standby. The device also supports quick-charge that can charge 100% battery in just 2.6 hours.
It also includes a fingerprint sensor placed unusually on the left of the device that can be used as a camera shutter button. As per the company, the fingerprint sensor on this device is of the second generation that can unlock the screen just by tapping and can also protect the documents with a fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity on the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS/A-GPS, and microUSB. The Honor 7i runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Emotion UI 3.1. It measures 141.6 x 71.2 x 7.8 mm and weighs 160 grams. The earlier launched ‘ZTE Nubia Z9 Exclusive’ also sported the fingerprint sensor on the side of the device; it is integrated into the power and volume rocker buttons. The device comes in two color options – Gold and Silver.
The pre-ordering of the devices has already started, and the devices will be shipped from early September. As of now the device is available only in China, and there is no word on international availability. The device is priced at 1,599 Yuan for 2GB variant and 1,899 Yuan for $300.
