Microsoft Lumia 640 XL comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon and runs on Windows 8.1 OS. If you have used this device and want to give the same to your friend or family member or resale it, make sure that you have deleted the data from your device. The data can be deleted in two ways either by deleting it manually or else factory resetting your device. You can factory reset your device, by following the below steps.

Step 1: Open the Settings.
Step 2: Now scroll down to system and tap on About (Windows Phone).
Step 3: In the new window, tap on ‘reset your phone’.

Step 4: A warning pop-up appears on the top of the screen with two options yes and no. Tap on the yes button to proceed and No to discontinue.
Step 5: Again a warning pop-up appears stating ‘Are you sure you want to erase all the data with two options Yes and No’. Tap on the Yes button to proceed.

The device will reboot and all the data is deleted from your device and it will restart as if you have booted the device for the first time.

Note: Before you reset your device, make sure that you backup your data as once you factory reset it, the data cannot be retrieved.
