Special Edition Nexus 6P in Gold Color to Launch in India at Rs. 43,999

Update – As of now, the Google Nexus 6P is available in three different colors Aluminum, Graphite, and Frost and a special edition of Nexus 6P was recently made available in Japan that comes in an all new Gold color. This same device was earlier spotted on Japan’s PlayStore which was listed as Unavailable and almost after two months, now the device is made available to purchase.

Today, Huawei India has confirmed the launch of Golden Nexus 6P with 64GB of built-in storage in India. The device is priced at Rs. 43,999 which is Rs. 1,000 costlier than the 64GB variant of the original Nexus 6P. It will be exclusively sold through Flipkart starting from December 21st. Apart from the color, there are no differences between the earlier launched Nexus 6P and the Golden Nexus 6P.

Commenting on the announcement, Allen Wang, President, Huawei India, said,

“The Huawei Nexus 6P has been well received by the Indian audience and keeping in mind the niche target group, we have introduced the Gold color Special Edition of the smartphone. At Huawei, we use the cutting-edge manufacturing technique combined with latest and innovative software technology to provide the best-in-class product.

Earlier: Sep 30, 2015 – Google has launched two Nexus devices, i.e., Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P with the partnership with two big smartphone manufacturer giants i.e. LG and Huawei. Nexus 5X is the upgraded version of the Nexus 5 with 5.2-inch IPS HD display and a fingerprint sensor on it. The device comes with Android Marshmallow and is available in three color variants Carbon Black, Sports White, and Ice Blue.

Nexus 6P, the successor of Motorola Nexus 6, comes powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC and runs on Android Marshmallow. The device sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2546×1440) display that is a bit smaller than the 6-inch display of Motorola Nexus 6. It comes with 3GB of RAM and is available in three storage variants, i.e., 32GB, 64GB and128GB priced at $499, $549 and $649 respectively. The device comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back panel that can be seen on other devices like Oppo R7 Plus, Oukitel U10, Honor 7. It packs a 3450mAh battery and supports fast charging as the device comes with USB Type-C Port. The device comes in three variants of colors Metallic Silver, Sports White, and Carbon Black.

Google has listed a special edition of Nexus 6P in Japan with Gold Color variant on the Online Store. All the other features and specs of the device are same as that of Nexus 6P with just a change in the color. The Japanese Google Store has listed only the Gold Color variant on their site, but the Price and availability of the same are not yet announced. There is no indication of the availability of the device across the world, while when did a search on the Google Store from India, it showed the following ‘The device is unavailable for your country.’
