Apple Now Offers One Year International (Worldwide) Warranty on Unlocked iPhones

Apple iPhones are always costlier in India when compared to the markets like the U.S and Hong Kong. Even there will be better deals on iPhones in the U.S during the Cyber Monday & Black Friday. Unlike the MacBooks, Apple doesn’t offer international warranty on the iPhones, which is a deal breaker for most of us. However, the company today announced to offer international warranty on the unlocked iPhones. Earlier to this, only the iPhone users with Apple Care protection plan are eligible for the international warranty.

Apart from Carried locked devices, rest of the iPhones are now eligible for the one year of international warranty around the world. This is really a good news for the users who are looking to purchase the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X devices. The all-screen iPhone X will be available for pre-orders starting October 27th. While the 256GB iPhone X costs Rs 1,02,000 in India, the same device is priced at $1149 (approx 74,600) and RM 5899 (approx Rs. 90,000) in the U.S and Malaysia respectively.

This new announcement is not only limited to the newly purchased devices. All the existing iPhones which are still covered under Apple’s one year warranty are also eligible for the international warranty for their remaining period. The warranty is not applicable on the unofficially unlocked carrier-locked devices. If the device is under warranty and can’t be fixed, Apple offers a free replacement. To extend the worldwide warranty after the first one year, the user have to purchase the Apple Care protection plans.
