Lenovo-backed ZUK had debuted the Chinese market in August last year by launching the ZUK Z1 smartphone. The device came with mid-range specifications and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based company’s own ZUI laid on top. Later the company announced the device for the international markets. Instead of running on the ZUI, it came with Cyanogen 12.1 OS.
Earlier, the company’s CEO confirmed the launch of ZUK Z2 Pro, the successor for ZUK Z1 on April 21st. Today Antutu has revealed few details of the ZUK Z2121, which we expect to be of ZUK Z2 Pro. Like most of the other flagship devices, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ZUI out-of-the-box. It features a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution display while there is no information about the screen size.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes in two variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM capacities. The benchmarking page shows only 32GB of internal storage while we expect the device to come with 64GB and 128GB storage options. The device might sport a complete metal build body with a rotating camera.
Along with the Chinese market, the ZUK Z1 was made available in most of the European countries and with the ZUK Z2, we expect the company to widen its reach. Apart from the third party resellers, the ZUK Z1 isn’t made available for the Indian market. But with the ZUK Z2 Pro, we hope the device will reach the Indian market. As of now Xiaomi Mi 5 is the only Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone available in India.
Samsung and HTC announced non-Snapdragon 820 variants for the Indian market while LG hasn’t announced any date for the LG G5 India launch. Along with ZUK Z2 Pro, the LeEco Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 are devices that will be launched in China later this month. Stay tuned for more updates!
