ZTE’s Nubia to Appoint Cristiano Ronaldo as Global Brand Ambassador

A couple of months ago China’s largest smartphone brand Huawei announced Lionel Messi as their global brand ambassador. Earlier, he was the brand ambassador for Huawei’s competitor Samsung. While there are no official numbers, Huawei is said to be paying EUR 8 million per year. Now, the latest news suggests ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia; another Chinese smartphone brand might rope in Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo who also plays for Spanish football club, Real Madrid.

The leaked screenshot posted below was found on Chinese social networking site, Weibo which mentions Cristiano Ronaldo as the global brand ambassador for Nubia. The official announcement regarding the same can be expected within the next few weeks. ZTE, which had a good international presence, launched the website at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas for making Nubia smartphones available all over the world. It had also mentioned making the website available in respective local languages.
