Earlier: July 11, 12:44 : ZTE is gearing for an upcoming launch of its smartphone named, ZTE Axon; it would be a special brand, as company states that the United States would be first to see it. This high-end specification smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer would be presented live during the event on July 14 in the country.

Though, the image has already been revealed by the company on their official website, but we company hasn’t shared even the slight hint about the specifications until now, as company has updated their website since first report of launch came in.

Here are some of the specifications that it might be sporting. You will see a dual-camera setup on the rear of the device, which would also able to shoot in 4K. It would have an “incredibly fast auto-focus”, moreover, “you can also refocus pictures after you take them, and make beautiful bokeh effects”. All this would sound gimmicky just like HTC did with its One M8, but we are hoping that company have managed to make a better dual camera than HTC.

Other mentions like “large battery”, “lightning fast processor” and “super-simplified Android interface” suggests that we will see a grandeur set of specs on the Axon phone. It is stuffed into the “sleek metallic body” and would be coming in three colors, Blue , Gold and Silver. This all is intriguing and but we’ll know more when the device comes in our hand.

Earlier, June 25, 15:40 : ZTE’s Nubia sub-brand has done quite well in the Asian market, and that could have made them go ahead further to come up with another sub-brand which operates in the west, specifically in the U.S. market. Named as “Axon”, this new brand from ZTE is very soon going to launch its first smartphone, a high-end one in the U.S. market.

July 14th is the date when the first event from ZTE is going to be held in New York City, and a teaser website set up by the company has revealed some specs, though the actual name of the phone is yet to be known. By high-end, we really mean a top-class stuff, starting with a 4GB RAM. Something similar like the Honor 6 Plus, the device will have two cameras on the back, that will help in refocusing after a capture is done. The camera on the front is said to be smile-activated.

While there is nothing said about the processor, for such a RAM included, we are sure to see one of the latest best chipsets powering the phone. Some Hi-fi audio recording and playback is included, and two microphones with some of the best noise suppression technology is going to be seen as well.

There will be three color options available, including Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold, and Chromium Silver. There is no big difference in the interface shown on the teaser picture, and the stock Android, and only a few changes from the stock OS are expected.

There is no information about its pricing, but as the source claims, the device could be priced around $450, given how they mentioned that in the contest rules as the value of the prize, which is the phone itself. The phone looks super cool with the triangular cut grills on the front and back, and it could be a dual-speaker setup.

We’ll wait till 14th July to get more updates on its launch.
