ZTE Axon 9 Pro with 6.21″ AxonVision Display & Snapdragon 845 SoC Goes Official
ZTE has launched its latest flagship smartphone called Axon 9 Pro in China. It is the company’s first smartphone launch after the controversial US ban. While the Axon series quite popular in the US, the new Axon 9 Pro will be exclusive to the Chinese market for the near future. As the sanctions are now lifted by the US government, the company is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. The Axon 9 Pro comes with a glass sandwich design and packs the flagship-grade specs.
On the front is the 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2040 x 1080 pixels) resolution and HDR10 playback support. The company is calling it as AxonVision display and sports a huge notch on the top. It is mentioned to sport RGB sensor for automatically adjusting the ambient light and screen color temperature. Under the hood is the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform clocked at 2.45GHz. It comes coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/8GB of RAM.
The Axon 9 Pro offers 64GB/256GB of flash storage and includes a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 2TB. In terms of optics, the device sports dual rear cameras featuring 12MP primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture and OIS, and a 20MP secondary sensor with 130-degree wide-angle view. For selfies, there is a single 20MP front-facing camera. The device offers AI-based features like auto scene detection, portrait mode, beauty mode, and more.
It sports stereo speakers with Dolby Surround Sound support and also includes a dedicated SmartPA audio chip for Hi-Fi audio output. The Axon 9 Pro runs on Android Oreo with custom Mifavor UI 6.0 on top. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 4+ fast charging and wireless charging. The device is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. With the Axon 9 Pro, ZTE also introduced Samsung DeX-like feature to get PC-like experience by connecting to a monitor.
Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. On the rear, the Axon 9 Pro also sports a circular fingerprint sensor. The device comes in Blue color and is priced at CNY 3999 (approx USD 577 / INR 42,600) for the 8GB RAM variant with 256GB of internal storage.
