ZOPO Speed 8 with Helio X20 SoC & 4GB RAM to Launch at MWC 2016

ZOPO is a lesser known smartphone manufacturer that had launched some good mid-range smartphone with affordable price tags. In August this year, the company had officially debuted the Indian smartphone market by launching the ZOPO Speed 7. It is priced at Rs. 12,999 and sports some competitive specifications at this price range.

The company had also launched the Speed 7 Plus which is the successor for Speed 7 that comes with a metal body. The specifications and design of both the devices remain same. Now, the company is getting ready to announce the upcoming flagship ZOPO Speed 8 smartphone at MWC that will be held in February 2016.

It comes with a 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution display with unknown screen size. Under the hood, the Speed 8 will be powered by the about to launch Helio X20 deca-core processor along with 4GB of RAM. It also includes a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. On the camera part, it features a 20MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and there is no information about the front camera.

As per the leaked images, the device looks slim and might sports an alloy frame around the device. The Speed 7 and Speed 7 Plus came with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. Both these devices are limited to FullHD resolution display while its successor Speed 8 is expected to sport 2K display. The devices runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Z-UI on top of it.

We expect the device to support dual SIM dual standby with 4G LTE connectivity. The recently lauched YU Yutopia is the most affordable smartphone to sport a 2k display that is priced at Rs. 24,999. There is no information regarding the pricing of the Speed 8 but if it is priced lower than the Yutopia, then we can expect some attention from the smartphone users.
