TP-Link Neffos to Debut Smartphone Industry in February 2016

TP-Link, a well-known brand in manufacturing computer networking products is now all set to launch a new smartphone brand. The Shenzhen based company had officially announced a new sub-brand called Neffos to launch smartphones. Though there is no announcement of any particular product, the first smartphone is expected to launch in February 2016.
Though this is not the first we are going to see a smartphone from TP-Link, in early 2012 the company had launched an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphone called TP-Link T882. In those days, it was priced at 1250 Yuan and came loaded with some of the best specifications available at that time. It features a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) resolution display and is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor.
It has an 8MP rear camera with dual-LED flash that can record videos in 720p resolution. On the connectivity part, it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G HSPA support. While the TP-Link T882 is only limited to the Chinese market, the Neffos branded smartphone are expected to be made available outside of its home country.
Commenting on the announcement of their entry into smartphone market, Jeffrey Chao, President of TP-Link said,
“Our original intention of developing Neffos was about creating a unique digital experience by establishing a seamless connection between people and devices. We believe a real smartphone could provide a sense of joy of technology for users while at the same time offer a simple lifestyle for them in such era of information explosion, so that for users, the smartphone is not just a tool, but a fashion icon to reflect oneself.”
As of now, TP-Link had a global share of 42.9% in Wi-Fi related products which is almost 4.5X times more than its nearest competitor. Since the major innovations taking place in the telecommunication industry, the company is more focused on bringing best of humanized design for their products. The smartphone from TP-Link will also help the company to set up as a link between the other smart devices.
