Micromax Yureka

Amidst the several allegations, claims and blame games, the new “Yu” brand from Micromax is announced and the first smartphone in that is the Yureka!. There are several promises made, but the most interesting part of it is the pricing of Rs. 8999.

There were a few leaks already about the device, and that included a 5.5-inch HD display, and the Android 4.4.2 KitKat with CyanogenMod ROM. And while it is still true that the device is a rebranded Coolpad F2 smartphone, it is rather good that CyanogenMod is the one running in it, for the best user experience. The camera combination in the device is a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing one.

The screen has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and oleophobic coating to keep fingerprints away. The viewing angle is said to be 80-degree.

The device is powered by MSM8939 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 615) chipset, along with 2GB RAM and there is 16GB internal storage with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The MSM8939 is an octa-core chipset with four cores at 1.7GHz and four cores at 1.0GHz.

Yureka Smartphone Specs

Connectivity wise, there is support to LTE TDD B40 2300MHz LTE FDD B3 1800MHz WCDMA 900/2100MHz GSM 900/1800/1900MHz bands, and there is Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. So, even the leaked model number was the same, and the Eureka is modeled AO5510. The battery included in the device is 2500 mAh.

Micromax is going with only the online store option to sell the Yu, thus the device will be sold on Amazon India. The registration for the purchase of Yureka starts tomorrow, i.e. 19th December at 2 p.m. in India. The color option available initially, will be Moonstone grey.

Well finally India’s leading brand is providing the real thing for which i was waiting woo now micromax is taking off and providing all the good or i say best specifications with the most eagerly waiting rom that is cyanogenmod wooo at 9k which is the best price woo now people who own xiaomi will feel jealous of it … The material they are proving is the best thing .. The best part `why i feel proud???’ Because its the Indian brand reaching heights putting others down and rising like a new sun i want to meet the pro’s behind this.. Cyanogenmod you rock…. And i think cyanogenmod will also provide the updates to cm12 tooo.

Shockingly low price!! Wonder what would be Micromax profit margin in this? The device will go out of stock in few secs, pretty much sure about that. Just like the xiaomi devices. Rumors are MMX Yu is just a clone of Coolpad F2. Really feeling bad that Indian users won’t be able to experience OnePlus One.

But ” IF ” micromax comes up with similar or more better phone than OPO then there is no need of OPO . considering the specs of 1st launched phone under ‘YU’ brand we can atleast expect similar highend smartphone like OPO from MMX . ( Just saying )

    • Shanky Yadav

Well its design looks like that a little bit same but when you compare them by design you will see a little change but in the compartment of specification both are same .only the difference is The ROM ( CyanogenMod in MMX)

And thanks Chetan for clarifying it supports both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE.. had a doubt.

  • Such a low price for this large display is crazy. It may abe a rebrand but that is only helping this device with affordability. The sheer power, size, and UI make the Yureka a remarkable phone that will amaze all and be sold in droves in the online marketplace. Would love this surely!

  • Android

wow for such a low price and a phone so big this is a steal. Not only is the phone big but the specs are also not that bad comapared to the price. It may not have the best power of the quad hd screen but for the cash you are getting quite a bang out of your bucks!! The big screen is an advantage and the dual sim is also great and the 13 megapixel camera is also not bad.For people looking for low end devices this is your pick!!!

WOWWW totally unexpected from micromax .Now this what we call ‘ coming back with BANG ‘ perfect competitor for all rival smartphones in this price bracket. Stunner by MMX <3 <3 <3 . wish to see more devices under this brand .

A very promising device. Hope that it can mesmerize!

  • This is really like PLAY GOD as it offers something different from other and a lot more specs which are missing in Xiaomi so a people like me who roots his phone does lots of changes would like to buy this smartphone which allows to do all things and these all are in warranty no warranty voids as I am ROM lover I would wait for it come for sale.

  • Oppo is like having no roots and you can see that it is not as popular as Micrimax and other smartphone so their is no chance of oppo to stand up. But you can compare opo and mixromax as this YU is far too different from other smartphones

  • Totally indeed it demolishes others in its playing field. The price is nothing to scoff at and the best thing to me is the size! Thats super flagship Nexus 6 Note 4 G3 1+1 territory and it’s a uber impressive feat from MMX!

  • Hello!
Can you please explain what us FDD LtE and TDD LTE please because I am not able to understand both as I thought its called 4G and thats all.

    • Frequency-division duplexing (FDD) is a method for establishing a full-duplex communications link that uses two different radio frequencies for transmitter and receiver operation. The transmit direction and receive direction frequencies are separated by a defined frequency offset.

Time-division duplexing (TDD) is a method for emulating full-duplex communication over a half-duplex communication link. The transmitter and receiver both use the same frequency but transmit and receive traffic is switched in time.

I dont really understand the communication frequencies in these bands myself. Hope this helped

      • Shanky Yadav

Ahh flushed off .. Well whatever it is I think its the best and that’s all thanks for having a eye on my question or I say a doubt .
