Although Yezz Mobiles has been into smartphone industry since some time, the name isn’t really known around. To make an impact with an affordable pricing, the company has just launched its new Billy S5 smartphone with Windows Phone 8.1, and importantly, the 4G LTE connectivity.

“YEZZ has been flooding the mainstream as a leading brand for the past three years,” remarked Luis Sosa, co-founder of YEZZ. “We continue to strengthen our presence in the European market and now we are turning our attention to the States.” The brand’s ambition is already coming into play as Microsoft now features their Billy devices, audaciously named after Bill Gates, in their Microsoft stores.

Coming to the specs of the Billy S5 LTE, it has a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz Quadcore Snapdragon 410 with Adreno 306 GPU (Lenovo is prepared to launch one device at CES with the same processor), 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with expansion with MicroSD card. The camera combination is 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The connectivity options include LTE 700/1700/2600 OR 800/1800/2600 bands based on the region, and Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass and Wi-Fi. This isn’t the first Windows Phone device from Yezz, as the company earlier had Billy 4 and Billy 4.7, both of which got rare good reviews.

The Billy S5 LTE will run Windows Phone 8.1, and that is what could be another factor for users to choose against Android devices, as the internal specs look promising. No details about the pricing and availability, or the carrier choices so far, but as the smartphone will be showcased at the CES 2015, we’ll check it out and pull out more details very soon.
