Huami, the subsidiary of Xiaomi, has scheduled a launch event on Septemrn17th in China. The invite posted on the company’s Weibo handle says “Amaze the Life, Fit the Future.” Till date, Huami hasn’t revealed anything about of its upcoming product. However, the image surfaced on Weibo reveals some key details of its upcoming smartwatch. While the earlier launched Amazfit smartwatches came with ugly looking design, the upcoming one comes with a sporty look.
The dial seems to be made of plastic with a funky looking orange colored home button. The company is calling it an IoT smartwatch and will be priced at 1199 Yuan (approx $175 / Rs 12,575) in China. While there is no official confirmation, we expect the users can control their smart devices using this Amazfit smartwatch. A couple of months, Xiaomi also launched a fitness tracker that can control smart devices running on Mijia platform.
We also expect the upcoming Amazfit smartwatch to control only the Mijia products. It will also come with Xiao AI – Xiaomi’s voice assistant for the Chinese market. Looking at its price tag, we don’t expect the company to offer LTE support to make it completely work as a standalone device. Instead, Huami has confirmed it to support NFC. Just like Mi Band 3 NFC variant, this new smartwatch can be used for making payments and taking public transportation. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar to know the complete details!
