Xiaomi’s 100W Super Charge Turbo Technology Can Fully Charge in 17 Minutes – Video
With the Mi 9 launch, Xiaomi introduced the world’s fastest wireless charging technology with 20W output. Talking about the wired charging, the Mi 9 supports Quick Charge 4.0 but comes with only 18W power adapter. On the other hand, OPPO’s SuperVOOC Flash Charge power adapter offers up to 5oW (10V/5A) power output. Huawei introduced the Mate X foldable smartphone with 55W Fast Charging.
Now, Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi, posted a new video on his Weibo account teasing the company’s new fast charging technology called Super Charge Turbo. It will offer up to 100W output (mostly 20V/5A) and can charge a smartphone with 4,000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 17 minutes. In comparison, the OPPO R17 Pro with 3,700mAh battery can be fully charged in 35 minutes using the 50W SuperVOOC flash charge.
Xiaomi will be revealing complete details about the Super Charge Turbo technology tomorrow. Also, we don’t think this new technology will be compatible with newly launched flagship smartphones like Mi 9 and Mi MIX 3 5G. Just like other custom fast charging technologies, the Super Charge Turbo technology might also require its own USB cable and power adapter to offer those high speeds.
