Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with Helio X10 SoC, 2GB RAM, MIUI7 Officially Launched in Malaysia

Update: Nov 3, 2015 – The Redmi Note 2 that was first unveiled in the China on August 3rd was now officially launched in Malaysia. The device is priced at RM 649 (approx $151 / Rs. 9,900) and comes in White and Dark Grey color options. Interestingly, the company had only launched the 16GB variant but not the Redmi Note 2 Prime with 32GB storage. The pre-orders of the device will begin from November 11th on the occasion of Single’s day (11/11) and the shippings will begin by the end of this month.
Since the device is powered by the MediaTek chipset, we cannot the see the device to be launched in India. There are also rumors about the possible launch of Redmi Note 3 in the next few weeks. The leaked image of the metal body of the handset suggests the device to sport a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. While nothing is yet confirmed by the company take this with a pinch of salt.
Earlier: Aug 123, 2015 –Xiaomi has been in the smartphones business for not that long, if you compare with other big brands, though, company has been selling its devices like a piece of cake, and all the cakes are quite delicious. So, like that company is working on a new piece of cake that has been recently passed through TENNA.
Today the company has announced the MIUI 7 with some performance improvements and as we expected the company also launched the new Redmi Note 2 and also the Redmi Note 2 Prime. Both the device shares the same design and specifications, and the only difference is the internal storages, the Redmi Note 2 has 16GB of internal storage while the Redmi Note 2 Prime has 32GB of internal storage. The two devices comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display and powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor.
The Redmi Note 2 has a clock speed of 2.0GHz and while the Redmi Note 2 Prime has a better clock speed of 2.2GHz. They have 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage options along with microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. There will be a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, dual LEDfalsh, and ultra fast AF speed of only 0.1second. On the front, there is a 5MP front camera accompanied by 36 beauty modes for better selfies. There is battery of 3,060mAh capacity on both the devices. It runs on the latest MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop instead of the latest 5.1.
The Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 prime measures 152 x 76 x 8.25 mm, and if you compare with original Redmi Note, then it was measure at 154 x 78.7 x 9.45 mm. The devices weigh 160 grams.
The 16GB variant comes in another two variants, where the difference is only there network bands while one would come with necessary bands for China Mobile, the other would be tailored for China Unicom, as well as the international market. The IR Blaster on the Redmi Note 2 allows you to control the electronic appliances directly with the device.

Along with the Redmi Note 2 variants, the company also launched a mini Wi-Fi router called ‘Mi Wi-Fi nano’ priced at RMB79/USD12 that can fit in your palm. Xiaomi also introduced 12 months accidental protection plan for the Redmi Note 2 for as cheap as RMB29/USD4.5. The device will be available starting from August 16 through their official website in China.
