Redmi Go is the first Android Go Smartphone from Xiaomi that was launched earlier this year in January. Now the device is going to debut in India and Xiaomi has already started sending invites of the same. The device is geared up to be launched on 19th of March 2019 in New Delhi at 12:00 PM. Manu Kumar Jain has also posted on Twitter to launch a teaser in Hindi that indicates the announcement of the entry-level smartphone in India.
Well, this budget-friendly Redmi Go device will be sporting a small 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels display with 16:9 aspect ratio and under the hood, there is a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 1.4GHz clocking speeds. There is 1GB of RAM along with either 8GB of storage or 16GB which could be extended via microSD card slot. The handset will be coming with Android 8.1 Oreo operating (Go Edition) out of the box and could be getting further updates also.
On the camera front, 8MP single camera on the rear with an LED flash, will be accompanied with a 5MP camera on the front without a LED flash. There is a 3000mAh battery on the back without any fast charging technology since it is a budget-friendly device targeting toward first time Android users. The device handset was unveiled in January while it went for pre-orders for PHP 3,990 (approx Rs. 5,400). It also comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and more.
The device is expected to be priced under Rs.5000 in India which we should be knowing on the launch day itself. The handset will be available in Blue and Black color options and should be available in 1GB+8GB and 1GB+16GB. The device measures 140.4 x 70.1. x 8.32 mm in size while it weighs 137 grams.
