Xiaomi Redmi 6A Launched with 12nm Helio A22 Processor, Priced at Rs 6,300
Along with the Redmi 6, Xiaomi also launched the Redmi 6A smartphone today in China. The Redmi 6A is an entry-level device and replaces the last year’s Redmi 5A. While the Redmi 6 comes with 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor, the Redmi 6A packs the all-new Helio A22 quad-core processor. Just like Helio P22, the new Helio A22 processor is also based on the 12nm FinFET processor. It includes four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
On the design front, both the new devices look similar. However, the Redmi 6A lacks the dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor on the rear. It comes with the polycarbonate shell with curved edges. The Redmi 6A sports 5.45-inch 18:9 display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution. The device comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It comes with a hybrid SIM card slot where the user has to choose between the secondary SIM and MicroSD card.
Talking about the cameras, there is a single 13MP camera on the rear with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. On the front is the 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. With the latest MIUI 10, the device can also capture photos in portrait mode. While there is no fingerprint sensor on this device, it comes with the face unlock feature.
The Redmi 6A is kept powered on by a 3,000mAh battery and support 5V/1A power input. It measures 147.5 x 71.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 145 grams. The loudspeaker on this device is placed on the rear. The Redmi 6A with 2GB of RAM is priced at 599 Yuan (approx $95 / Rs 6300). As of now, there is no information about the availability of this device in other markets.
