Xiaomi Redmi 5 & Redmi 5A Gets MIUI 10 OTA Update in India

Just a couple of days earlier, Xiaomi started rolling out its MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM to its Redmi Note 4 device along with security patch for the month of October in India and now, the company has started rolling out the same MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for its Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A devices also. The updates will come as MIUI 10.1.1.0. and is based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system for the Red 5A and while for Redmi 5 it is MIUI 10.1.2.0. based on the same Android 7.1 Nougat.

Well, the update has bought a bunch of changelogs and first among them is the design for giving its users a full-screen experience. It has bought a new User Interface for full-screen devices and lets the contact the front stage which looks clean on the older versions also. There is a Natural sound system along the update, which keeps changing on its own as we have seen on the Note 4 update also.

The company has also simplified the sound system sounds and applied smart filters so that the users can hear something only when they need to. Furthermore, the ambient sounds of the forest, stove fire, beach, summer night, drizzle keeps them relaxed and focused on the things. The new MIUI 10 also brings AI Portrait mode to the single-camera devices and blurs the background on the portrait shots.

There are other system apps which have got a revamp that includes the clock and note also. There are many other improvements and optimizations along with the security patch for the month of October. If you can’t wait for the update to hit your device, you can always go to the setting of the device and check for the update manually from the about phone section.

Now if the update is available, download it and install on the smartphone, but be sure that the battery on the smartphone is more than 60 percent before the installation starts and do make sure the data is also backed up. The size of the download is 1.4GB for the Redmi 5 which is a pretty big update and suggest to download it using Wi-Fi connectivity while for the Redmi 5A the size of the update is 1.3GB.
