Xiaomi Redmi 4 with Snapdragon 625 SoC & Metal Body Spotted in New Images

In 2016, Xiaomi had already launched the quite a few smartphones under the Redmi series. The entry-level Redmi 3, Redmi 3 Pro, and Redmi 3S came with very affordable pricing along with superior specifications. It also launched the mid-range Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Pro smartphones under this series. Xiaomi will also launch Mi Note 2 smartphone and debut the smartwatch category by the end of this year. Now the latest leaked images confirm few important specifications of the upcoming Redmi 4.
While the Redmi 3 series came with metal body and plastic caps covering the top and bottom rear edges, the Redmi 4 might sport a single plastic cap on the top edge. It sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It will be powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device.
The leaked image shows the Redmi 4 to feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and there will also be a 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of storage at the time of launch. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based latest MIUI 8 on top and also received the Android security patch for the month of August. While in India, recently the company also launched the entry-level Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime smartphones priced at Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively.
If the rumors are to be believed, the Redmi 4 will be launched alongside the upcoming flagship Mi Note 2 in the next couple weeks. In China, Xiaomi announced a 200 Yuan price cut on the 3GB RAM variant of Mi 5 that makes it cost just 1799 Yuan (approx $271 / Rs. 18,150); while in India, the device is selling for Rs. 24,999 (approx $374). Talking about the Mi Note 2, it said to include 6GB of RAM which makes it compete against the likes of OnePlus 3, Vivo Xplay 5, ZUK Z2 Pro, and the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.
