Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi Pad 3 with the 7.9-inch retina display and metal body. It is just a minor upgrade over the Mi Pad 2 and even its availability is limited to China. In the coming weeks, the company is expected to launch the Mi Pad 4 as the successor to Mi Pad 3. As of now, there is no official confirmation of the Mi Pad 4 launch. It was recently spotted on Chinese 3C certification website.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Leaked with 6000mAh Battery, Might Launch Soon in China

Just like its predecessor, the new Mi Pad 4 also comes with 5V/2A charging input. While the Mi Pad 2 came with a 6,600mAh battery, the upcoming Mi Pad 4 is rumored to feature a smaller 6,000mAh battery. It was even spotted on the FCC website with the model number M1806D9W. The tablet will be coming with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi support. Looking at the trend, we also expect the company to launch the LTE variant.
Based on the latest leaks, the Mi pad along with Mi Max 3 and Redmi 6 Plus are expected to be launched in July in China. Since there is no trusted source backing this information, take them with a pinch of salt. The Mi Max 3 is now rumored to come with a 6.99-inch 18:9 display and 5,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the Redmi 6 Plus will be company’s most affordable smartphone with the notch display.
Last month, the company for the first time embraced the notch design by launching the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE smartphones. Talking about the Mi Pad 4, the company might restrict its availability just to its home country. While Apple has occupied the majority of the premium segment in the tablets category, the low-cost Android tablets have been the best sellers in the emerging markets like India.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 with 8″ Display Confirmed to Launch on June 25th

Last week, there are leaks about the Xiaomi’s upcoming Android tablet called Mi Pad 4. Today, the company has confirmed the Mi Pad 4 to be officially launched on June 25th in China. Apart from the earlier leaks, there is not much information available about the hardware of this new tablet. From the teaser image, we can look at the rear view of the tablet featuring a single rear camera.
Just like the previous two generations, the new Mi Pad also seems to come with the metal body. The tablet is also mentioned to come with an 8-inch display with Full HD resolution. It is said to come in a compact form factor for its size and can be used comfortably even with single-hand. All the previously launched Mi Pad tablets came with a 7.9-inch display offering Full HD (2048 x 1536 pixels) resolution.
Let’s wait and see, what Xiaomi does to the Mi Pad 4 to make it a single-hand usage device. While there is no confirmation, we expect the Mi Pad 4 to come with the latest MIUI 10.
Mi Pad 4 Confirmed to Sport Snapdragon 660 SoC

A day after announcing the launch date of the Mi Pad 4, Xiaomi today confirmed its upcoming tablet to be powered by the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform. It comes with Kryo 260 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz and Adreno 512 GPU. The Mi 6X is the only Xiaomi smartphone till date to use the Snapdragon 660. Coming to the tablets, the Mi Pad 4 will be first to use this processor.
While it is expected to sport 6,000mAh battery, we hope the company includes Quick Charge 3 fast charging technology. It will also smart game mode that boosts the performance while playing games on this new tablet. The company should also offer the stereo speaker for a better audio experience. As of now, there is no information about the other specifications of the tablet.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 to Sport 8″ Display with 16:10 Aspect Ratio

Xiaomi has already confirmed the Mi Pad 4 to come with 8-inch Full HD display. While the Android smartphones are now coming 19:9 displays, the tablets are still following the old 16:9 standard. While the Apple is rumored to introduce new iPad with iPhone X notch featuring Face ID technology, we don’t think it will happen anytime sooner. However, Xiaomi today confirmed the upcoming Mi Pad 4 to come with 16:10 aspect ratio. While the earlier launched Mi Pad tablets came with 7.9-inch 16:9 displays, the 8-inch 16:10 display on the upcoming Mi Pad 4 might offer slightly thinner bezels.
The Snapdragon 660-powered tablets will also AI Face Unlock option to securely unlock the tablet. Just like other Mi Pad tablets, there will be no fingerprint sensor on this Mi Pad 4. Based on the leaks, the Wi-Fi only variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and the Wi-Fi + LTE variant offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Coming to the pricing, the Mi Pad 4 Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants might be priced at 1499 Yuan (approx $230 / Rs 15,500) and 1999 Yuan (approx $307 / Rs 20,500) respectively.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 was already leaked in press renders and we also came to know the key details from the teaser images. Today, the company has officially unveiled the Mi Pad 4 in China. With the aggressive price tag of Mi Pad 4, the company is targetting the budget tablet users. The Wi-Fi only variant comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and is priced at 1099 Yuan (approx $127 / Rs 11,400) and 1399 Yuan (approx $162 / Rs 14,500) respectively.
There is also Wi-Fi + LTE variant that comes only with 4GB RAM and costs 1499 Yuan (approx $173 / Rs 15,600). The Mi Pad 4 is currently available for registrations and will go on sale starting June 29th. It will be available in Gold and Black color options. The Mi Pad 4 comes with a large 8-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It got rounded corners as seen on the current-gen smartphones.
It is powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor clocked at 2.2GHz and includes Adreno 512 GPU. As mentioned earlier, the Mi Pad 4 comes in 3GB/4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB/64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of internal storage. In the camera department, the Mi Pad 4 sports a single 13MP camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture that can record videos up to 1080p resolution.
On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras offer HDR and face beauty. While there is no fingerprint sensor on this tablet, the Mi Pad 4 at least comes with face unlock option. The tablet measures 200.2 x 120.3 x 7.9 mm and weighs 342.5 grams. It is backed by a 6,000mAh non-removable battery that only supports upto 5V/2A (10W) charging input.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE (only on LTE variant), Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS (only on LTE variant), 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The Mi Pad 4 comes with metal unibody design and 16:10 display offers relatively thinner bezels.
