Asus Zenfone 5Z with Snapdragon 845 SoC Might Launch Tomorrow in India



Asus is long rumored to launch its 2018 flagship smartphone in India. The Asus Zenfone 5Z was first announced at the MWC in February 2018. It was recently made available in Europe and is priced lesser than the OnePlus 6. It is also the most affordable Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone in Europe. Today, the leading Indian e-commerce website Flipkart has teased the launch of a new flagship smartphone from Asus.

While there is no confirmation, we expect the company to launch the Zenfone 5z in India via Flipkart. The base variant of the OnePlus 6 with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage is retailing for Rs 34,999. The Zenfone 5z might also cost somewhere around Rs 35,000. Recently, we also spotted the listing of the high-end variant of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 with 6GB of RAM and better cameras.

As the Flipkart’s listing says flagship redefined, we are not expecting them to announce the Snapdragon 636-powered Zenfone Max Pro M1. At the MWC, Asus also unveiled the Zenfone 5 smartphone. While it looks similar to Zenfone 5z and sports same set of cameras. It comes powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor instead of Snapdragon 845. Let’s wait for tomorrows official announcement at 8:30 pm to know about the new Zenfone from Asus.

Talking about the specifications, the Zenfone 5z comes with a 6.2-inch notch display with Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) display and 19:9 aspect ratio. It sports dual camera setup on the rear with a 12MP primary sensor and an 8MP wide-angle secondary sensor. The cameras come with dual pixel PDAF, EIS, AI scene detection, and portrait mode. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

It is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and supports up to 18W fast charging technology. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Zen UI 5.0 out of the box.
